A remarkable difference...

With a warm Irish welcome HARVEY’S Irish Restaurant & Bar  embodies the spirit of Ireland located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, NY. Enjoy our choice of bars with a roof terrace for those warmer nights. Our kitchen offers a variety of traditional Irish dishes and gastro pub cuisine, while our bar has the friendly service and regular live music to delight. Whether your tipple is a pint of the black stuff, a craft beer, a colorful cocktail or a glass of wine - you will be charmed by this authentic Irish establishment. Open every day for lunch & dinner or just drinks!

HARVEY’S also has a choice of function areas available, perfect for corporate events or private parties including Weddings, Cocktail Parties, Showers, Rehearsal Dinners and more. Ask about our new private space, The Library, with its own private terrace, for your next special occasion!

So where does the name come from?  HARVEY’S is named after a good natured Irish ghost who brings good fortune, or pooka (púca) as the Irish would say.  Harvey, an unseen character in the Mary Chase play of the same name, later a film with James Stewart, is a pooka in the form of a six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch tall invisible rabbit. Harvey is best friends with an amiable chap called Elwood P Dowd.  Elwood spends most of his time in the local bar, and throughout the story invites new acquaintances to join him for a drink.  Interestingly, the barman and all regulars accept the existence of Harvey, and the barman asks how they both are and unflinchingly accepts an order from Elwood for two Martinis.  HARVEY’S Irish Restaurant and Bar aspires to be such a benevolent entity, charming those who come to know us by spreading goodwill, camaraderie and a bit of ‘craic’ (Gaelic for fun!) along the way!
